BEAUTY HACKS YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE

BEAUTY HACKS YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE

If you're not utilizing some smart beauty hacks in your beauty routine, you're working too hard!!
Try out some of these cool beauty shortcuts that help you achieve your desired look in less time and hassle so you can get on with your day and go on with your charming self.

1. LONGER, FULLER LASHES
This beauty hack is so simple and quick that you will get results in no time! When you want longer looking lashes, most women turn to Fiber Lash Mascaras or Latisse. If you don't happen to have that, you can use powder to boost you lash power. Lightly dust you pressed or loose powder, some ladies like to use baby powder, on your lashes with your eyes closed and just mascara as usual. Grab a cotton swab and follow with another coat of powder, making sure you pay attention to the tips of the lashes and apply another coat of mascara. You can keep building up your lashes until you achieve your desired look.

2. MAKE COLORS POP
I think we've all had the unfortunate experience of buying a gorgeous nail or eye color only to come home and find out it's practically see-through. There's a quick fix for that! The next time you apply eye makeup or nail polish, use white as your base color. Use a blendable eye pencil or eye shadow all over your lid to intensify you eye shadow or use white nail polish to make neon or other light-colored polishes pop.

3. MATTE LIPS
If you're a fan of the matte lip look, you'll be happy to know that you can instantly transform any lipstick you have into a rich, matte formula in just a few steps, Simply apply your lipstick as usual that cover your lips with a tissue and brush some powder over your lips. The powder will go through the tissue and you're left with a sexy matte look in seconds.

4. STAY PUT BOBBY PINS
Do bobby pins frequently slip out of place or just refuse to stay in your hair? If so, there is an easy peasy solution solution to your beauty dilemma. The next time you reach for your bobby pins, lay them out on a napkin and lightly mist them with hairspray before you use them. The hairspray will make the bobby pins little sticky so they're less likely to slip and slide in your hair.

5. GLITTER POLISH REMOVAL
Glitter polishes are a lot of fun to wear, but such a pain to take off!
Make the task easier by using one of the two foolproof glitter polish removal methods.
Your first option is to use apply a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover on your nails and then wrap up your fingertips in aluminium foil. Give them a few minutes and the majority of the glitter should be gone.
The other option, which I have yet to try, is to use glue as your base coat. Apply a coat of glue to your nail and allow it to completely dry. Next, apply your nail polish and top coat as usual. Once you're ready to remove the polish, use your fingernail or a cuticle pusher and gently lift the egde and peel off the polish.
In both cases, make sure to use cutical oil after removal of the polish, you need to take care of them too..

6. FULLER LIPS
I'm guessing you've probably heard the old makeup trick of applying a gloss to the middle of your bottom lip to create fuller looking lips. While that works, another method to mimic the look of fuller lips is to dab some shimmer eye shadow on the middle of your bottom lip. This is also a good way to a cool,  3-D effect to your lips.

7. GIVE EYES DEPTH
We all have those days where we want to look polished, but not totally made up. A simple way to give your eyes some dimension is to use bronzer on your crease. This will give you a beautifully sculpted look in just few steps. Matte bronzers are first choice, but some shimmery bronzers can also leave a pretty glow to your lids.

8. ILLUMINATE EYES
Another beauty hack to show off your eyes is to apply an illuminating product or highlighter above and underneath your brows. Doing so helps to add light to those areas and create the illusion of a lifted eye and flawless arch. If you're looking to look more awake, ditch the black liner and pick up a blue or blue-based eye liner color to line your eyes. This will help the white of your eyes look whiter.

9. SET LIPSTICK
This last beauty hack is just too easy and too good. You know how we blot our lips with powder to set it and prevent color from bleeding?
Next time, try using a powder blush that's similar in color to your lipstick to set it. This way, your lipstick stays in place and there's no risk of the blush altering the color of your lipstick like a powder might.

I hope you incorporate some of these genius beauty hacks into your beauty routine. Do you know any clever beauty hacks?? Do mention it down in the Comments section.
Would Love to hear from you!!

Till then, Stay Beautiful..

7 Makeup Facts That Will Shock You!

Hi Everyone,
Makeup has existed for thousands of years; well, a form of makeup that is. In ancient times tar, lead and an array of other elements we wouldn’t dare put on our skin today, beautified women all over the world. Now we’re much more conscious about what we put on our skin, but as ingredients have changed and trends evolved throughout history, one thing has stayed consistent – women love how wearing makeup allows them to feel gorgeous, powerful, and sometimes even chameleon-like. As the cosmetics industry has grown substantially over the last 100 years, the amount of absolutely astonishing facts have also piled up. I frequently share how to use the industry’s best products to create many looks, but I thought today I’d share statistics and facts about makeup that may just blow your mind.

1. The first nail polish was invented in China in 3000 B.C. Unlike the formula today, the original version was a mixture of beeswax, gum, egg whites and colored powder.
2. During Cleopatra’s reign, she would soak the sails of her ships in perfume so the scent would drift to Rome before her arrival. Between this and statement eyes, she truly represented Egyptian queen beauty.
3. In the 18th century, England almost passed a law that allowed men to divorce their wives if they caught them wearing makeup. Can you even imagine that today?
4. Every year there are close to 900 million lipsticks sold worldwide. That means almost every single person in the United States could own three tubes of lipstick!
5. Neon nail polish is illegal in the United States. While many brands tout neon shades, their colors do not possess the true neon colorant. Neon within nail polish is not approved by the FDA, thus you’re most likely to find a real neon nail polish in other countries.
6. The first mascara was created by Eugene Rimmel in the 19th century. Ironically, the word Rimmel closely translates to mascara in many languages, while the word mascara means mask or stain in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
7. Some laws never get tossed out no matter how outdated and absurd. In order for a woman to wear makeup in Morrisville, Pennsylvania she must get a permit first. Luckily, no one is enforcing this law!

Do you know of any crazy facts about makeup? Share them below! Love to see what you guys come up with.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR FULLER LIPS

As a makeup artist, one of the top questions my clients ask me is if I would share my tips for fuller lips. Full, luscious lips are coveted in today's society. They demand attention and help create an undeniable sensuality to one's look. However, we aren't all born with the blessing of a full pout.
If you have faced the challenged of making your lips look fuller but not clownish, read on to discover the seven tips and tricks for fuller lips that I use both on myself and on my clients!

1. PREP WITH CINNAMON - DIY

Preparing your lips by using cinnamon scrub is one of the easiest methods out of my arsenal of tips that I share, who are looking to achieve that perfect pout.  Start with bare lips, free of any lip balm or lip color.
Make a paste by mixing together;
1 tsp granulated sugar,
1 tsp ground cinnamon and
1 tsp coconut oil.
Smooth this over your lips and gently rub to remove any dry, chapped skin. Once you have exfoliated, let the scrub sit on your lips for up to 2 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. The cinnamon will have created a warm, tingling sensation that increases blood flow to your lips giving them a temporary fuller look. I love this step as it gives a smooth, clean canvas to work with and it also acts as a plumping agent.

2. UTILIZE A PLUMPING LIP BALM

For the times when I am in a rush, or more likely just feeling a bit lazy, I rely on a plumping lip balm to fake fuller lips. These types of products rely on the same principle that the DIY cinnamon lip scrub use. The active ingredient heat up the lips drawing blood to the area and turn gives the lips a temporary fuller appearance. Be warned though, because you do not rinse the balm or glosses off like you do with the scrub you may find warming sensation to be too intense to wear for hours at a time. One of the classic lip plumping glosses that has yet to fail me is 'Too Faced Lip Injection'.

3. LINE TO DEFINE!

For those of you seeking a little something extra, lip liner is about to become your new best friend. The first thing you want to do is blend a concealer matching your skin tone onto the lips. Then, using a lip liner in your natural lip color, trace just a little outside of your natural lip line. To finish up, fill in your "new" lips with lipstick that matches. Viola, behold your new beautifully full lips! This application can take some practice before you find what looks right on you so don't give up if it looks a bit wonky on the first try!

4. HIGHLIGHT YOUR LIPS

Another trick of making your lips appear fuller is by playing with light. When light reflects off of surfaces instead of being absorbed, such as with matte surfaces, it tricks the eye into thinking the area is larger than it really is.
By strategically placing a shimmery highlighter to the center of the bottom lip and along the Cupid's bow (the V shaped indent at the top of your upper lip) light reflects off of the highlighted area pulling the lips forward and causes the lips to appear fuller. You can use this trick in conjunction with any of the other tips as well. Just make sure that if you are combining it with another trick you apply the liner an lipstick.

5. TRY OMBRE

Are you over the ombre trend yet? For those of you with thin lips, I hope you give this trend one last chance to win you over before writing it off for good. The Ombre lip is another technique that plays with light and color to reshape your lips to appear larger and fuller. The beauty of it is you don't need a shimmery highlighter to achieve the look if sparkles aren't your thing. You only need two colors one darker color to line the lips and a lighter color for the inner middle of your lower and upper lips. Follow the same techniques for lining slightly outside your lips with the darker color and fill in your lips using the lighter color. To create a seamless ombre effect blend the darker color in towards the lighter color.

6. SAY NO TO DARK COLORS

Light and color choices plays a huge part in how small or full our lips appear. The best advice I can give to those of you who want to appear to have larger, fuller lips is to stay away from dark colors. Basic color theory rules state that dark colors absorb more light. The less light that is reflected, the smaller the area appears. This is not to say that you can no longer wear red lipstick, just opt for a brighter red and stay away from dark mauve and deep red browns. If you can't live without your favorite deep plum lipstick, try to at least pair it with one of the previous techniques to help balance the look.

7. SAY YES TO LIGHT COLORS AND GLOSSES

If dark color recede areas and make them appear smaller, it naturally follows that lighter color will draw attention and make areas seem larger. Switching out dark colors is one of the most foolproof ways to help your lips appear fuller. Adding a clear gloss on top of your favorite light colored lipstick intensify the fuller lip effect by creating an even more light reflective surface. For those of you who are minimalists when it comes to makeup, try just a light tinted lip balm for a subtle appearance of fuller lips.

The great thing about all of these tips is that you can mix and match them to fit your lifestyle, and how dramatic of a change you want to create. Practice each technique and figure out what combination works best for you personally.
