5 Best Concealers Ever!!

Hi Girlies!!

Eid Al-Fitr Mubarak! Hope you all had an amazing time with your family and friends...

Ramadan and Eid kept me busy, but without any delay - Here are the best products to hide those tired eyes!!

Best Under Eye Concealers!!

Bobbi Brown Corrector and Concealer

This peach tinted concealer is perfect for dark circles under the eyes as it counteracts the blueness (orange/peach is the opposite of blue on the color  wheel, therefore the colors balance each other out). Correctors work differently than traditional concealers in that they are colored- specifically for correcting a specific issue (ie blueness under the eyes looking like dark shadows or circles). The gel like consistency is perfect for under the eyes. It won’t cake up or look too dry. It glides easily, isn’t too thick, and covers extremely well.

To apply I simply take my ring finger and swipe the smallest amount under my eyes before I apply my foundation. If you don’t wear foundation, then you will simply need a color close to your skin which is not peach, As the Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit, you will love every bit of using this product.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat
Even though this is actually claimed to be a “skin brightener”, but it works well as just a plain ole’ concealer. ;) I use this under the eyes, BUT I apply after my foundation. You do not need this in addition to correctors, as you don’t want to apply too much product, especially under the delicate eye area.
The consistency of this is a bit creamy versus a gel, but it isn’t so thick to where it emphasizes any wrinkles or crevices. If you don’t have bad dark circles, then this should be plenty coverage for you.  I suggest getting a shade lighter than your skin to help brighten up the area.
To apply, gently sweep this under the eyes after applying foundation. Or you can apply straight to bare skin if you wish to skip foundation, just be sure to blend really well.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
This is without doubt the best drugstore concealer ever! This comes in a tube and has a wand much like a lipgloss would. It’s easy to apply and blends into the skin smoothly and evenly. It’s a thin, liquid formula that covers and hides imperfections incredibly well. It also hides dark under eye circles, no problem. This concealer is available in 6 different shades catering for either pink or yellow undertones. The best way to apply this is to sweep it under the eyes or around the nose where you need it and blend it with either your ring finger or concealer brush.
This has a smooth formula and doesn't get at all cakey. It does have a slight smell but is nothing offensive or too harsh. I find this is a great dupe for the YSL Touche Éclat. This is ideal for those days when you don’t want to wear a full face of foundation but still want to cover any darkness or imperfections you may have.

Best Concealers for Blemishes!!
MAC Studio Finish Concealer
The difference between undereye concealers and blemish concealers is simply the texture: concealers that work best on blemishes have a thicker, creamier texture. I love this MAC one as it covers incredibly well and doesn’t look cakey like some cream concealers can. It comes in a convenient little pot which is great for travel, and it is available in a variety of different shades.

Makeup For Ever Camouflage Cream
This palette was my first love for concealers! I love how well it covers the blemishes and how it doesn’t get cakey. The texture is almost exactly like MAC’s Studio Finish, but it includes 5 shades in one sleek palette, perfect for custom blending.
To apply, I dab my finger (clean finger *cough cough*) into the concealer and dab over the blemish. Do NOT swipe as it will streak instead of covering the blemish, especially if it is raised.
If you need just a little coverage under the eyes, this could work, but be sure to apply with a concealer brush so you get a super thin layer.

Let me what you think about these products in the comments section below!

Skin Care during Holy Ramadan!!

Hey there, beautiful ladies,

Ramadan Kareem to all of you!!

While you are fasting, your body and skin goes through many changes and for this reason you need to take special care of your skin. Skin care in Ramadan is very important to have a fresh look all daylong so that you do not look wearied out to your family and friends. And, for this the first few things to know are skin related problems that may arise during Ramadan.

Dehydration is the most common threat that is associated to the summer season. Due to dehydration, the skin becomes dull and faint. On the top of it, when you are fasting, you cannot take the amount of liquid that you would usually take during the day to keep you hydrated. Your meal times also change during this month, making your skin prone to many diet related hazards, which also affect the quality of your skin.
Following are the some skin care tips for the Holy month of Ramadan.
Ø  Diet is very important because it has direct effect on the skin. Avoid eating oily and spicy food items because these can turn your skin oily and result in the outgrowth of pimples, acne and skin rashes.
Ø  Eat a good amount of fresh vegetables and fruits in suhoor and iftaar to provide essential nutrients to the skin.
Ø  Protect yourself and your skin from the harmful effects of the dehydration; drink a lot of liquids between iftaar and suhoor.
Ø  If your skin is dry then you should do cleansing and toning regularly.
Ø  Women with oily skin should not use oily creams and lotions in Ramadan.
Ø  It is good to wash your face with plain water frequently. Along with the moisturizing your face, it also removes the extra oil and dust from the skin.
Ø  Spray rose water 3-4 times a day on sensitive parts of your skin during Ramadan to keep your skin cells fresh.
Ø  Avoid cosmetics as much as you can.

If you have to go to work or you have to wear makeup on daily basis for some reason, then you must try these tips.
·         Light-weighted foundation looks good and hides the spots on your skin.
·         Use blush-on of matte light colors like peach, pink or bronzers.
·         Using eye shadow during the day is not necessary but if you really should then use light/nude colors.
·         You can also wear kajal or eye liner to make your eyes to look gorgeous.

·         Try not to use any kind of lip wear during fasting or u can try some organic lip balm (make sure, u don’t ingest it).

Ramadan Kareem  and  Stay Blessed..

Love <3

How to beat oily skin woes in summer

With the scorching sun and heat of summer, we end up washing our 'shiny' faces so often that does more damage than good.

According to Rod Anker, creative director of Monsoon Salon and Spa, over-cleansing really dehydrates the skin, signaling the body to produce more oil.
Anker also advises that one should get cooling facials as they refresh and cleanse the skin without drying it.

And as for me, I learnt this trick of rubbing ice on my skin from my mother which not only feels good in the heat but also reduces the pores.

So tell me some of your favorite summer beauty tricks :)

Stay Cool n Beautiful <3

What is your most flattering Eye Liner Shade?

Find the Most Flattering Eye Liner Shade for your Eye Color

When it comes to eye liner, few of us ever venture out beyond basic black or brown.
Stop playing it safe and try experimenting with a new shade that not only compliments your eye color, but enhances it!!
Ready to give it a try??!!

Brown Eyes:
It's time to switch things up! Try a liner in grey, deep blue or green.

Blue Eyes:
Bronzes and taupes really make blue eyes pop!

Green Eyes:
Make yours look brighter or greener, with plums and purples.
If your green eyes are more on the hazel side, copper makes an ideal choice.

Stay Beautiful my love <3

3 Simple Ways To Fight Acne During Pregnancy

Hi Ladies!!
Today I was at the Launch event of the Fa Floral Protect (chk my blog for more info) and I met this sweet person named Chandni, she's a Lifestyle blogger... So alongwith our sweet chat, she shared something amazing about her; She's expecting for the most beautiful moment in her life!
Pregnancy is a time when every woman’s life changes. The transformations are both internal and external. The external changes include acne and pimples on face. That was one of her concerns, and she did ask me for tips that could help her...We all usually do anything and everything under the sun to get rid of those acne on our skin - usually creams, gels, ointment containing salicylic acid, but during pregnancy the story changes completely.. you can't do half of the things you could do before;;; I have seen my sister goin thru her pregnancy, and believe me - it scared the hell out of me!!!!  Anyways getting back to the topic; this blog is about some FAQ's about skincare and How to get rid of Acne during pregnancy in an absolutely harmless way:
These are some of the exact queries of expectant women.

Who will be more prone to acne and pimples during pregnancy?

Well, we must admit that one woman in every two women suffer from varied levels of acne during pregnancy. While many experience mild pimples during their pregnancy, few undergo much more complex problems. Those with a history of pimples and acne will be more prone to acne and pimples during this period.

Which is the time when one may have pimples during pregnancy?

Usually pimples or acne happen during the first trimester which usually disappears within the third trimester. If you do not get pimples in the first trimester, it is very rare that you will get them in the next two trimesters. Usually in the first trimester, the body goes through a lot of changes like hormone imbalance which gives rise to acne problem.

What causes pimples and acne during pregnancy?

Well, hormones are usually the main cause for pimples and acne. First of all, when one goes through the adolescent years, they face some hormonal imbalance which causes pimples at that time. Similarly when a woman expects, she experiences a massive hormonal change and it results in acne.

So what can you do to keep the pimples during early pregnancy at bay or how to tackle them?

First of all, maximum cases of pimples and acne during pregnancy are usually mild and seldom become severe. So you may not even need to do anything as it will slowly stop on its own. But if the pimples become severe, then you need to consult your doctor and state that you are expecting. The main concern here is the fact that acne and pimple medications are external as well as internal pills and both can cause problems to your unborn child. Many harmless looking medicines and ointments may create birth defects so always check with the doctor and ask for his opinion.
Some tricks to heal acne/pimples in a natural and harmless way?
Acne and pimples on face during pregnancy can really drive people crazy and those with a history of acne will face this condition quite naturally. So if you are expecting and experiencing regular acne and pimple breakouts, here are some quick home remedies which are easy to use on a regular basis as well as safe for your baby:

  • Lemon is renowned for its natural pimple fighting ingredient and this is the reason why it is included in so many pimple reduction products. What you need to do is squeeze a freshly cut lemon halve and store the juice in an airtight sealed container. Apply it in the night before going to bed using a small tip. Apply the juice over every individual pimple. If you find raw lemon juice too strong, you can dilute it with water. Do not use lemon on the whole face as it will irritate your skin.  Use this technique twice or thrice a day and you will see a difference within one week.
  • Aloe Vera gel is a wonderful natural remedy which work wonders for a variety of skin as well as hair problems. Aloe Vera gel helps to reduce acne and pimples effectively.
  • Essential oils like lavender essential oil as well as tea tree oil works great to reduce acne and pimples.

Each person’s skin is different, so what works for many may not work for you. Do try all of the tricks to see what suits you the best. Also we suggest, you do not prick pimples, keep the skin clear and avoid touching your face too many times so that germs in your hands do not contact your face.

Hope these tips will help you. If you have any good tips for pregnant moms, then do share with us in the comment box.
If any queries or concerns, feel free to contact me! All the very best Chandni!
Until then, Stay Beautiful :)

'SO ECO' MakeUp Brushes Review

"This Face Brush Kit by 'So Eco' contains four different brushes used for the perfect application of instant make-up."

I know what you're all thinking, "So Eco, I've never heard of that brand before" well here's why...
The 'So Eco' range of make up brushes and tools is brand new! They're fresh from the factory and until now I have only seen them in Spinneys(Dubai) or at  www.amazon.co.uk at the moment.
I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am to be one of the first in Dubai to review and share this brand with you all!

The biggest selling points of the So Eco brushes will definitely be the fact that they are made from sustainable materials, they're recyclable (literally everything, from the products packaging to the bristles on the brushes). They are cruelty free and the brushes are cut and trimmed by hand to give them that extra special finish.

I chose the Face Brush Kit to try out, mainly because of the fact that it contained a makeup brush for each area of the Face ;-) but also down to the fact that the set comes in a beautiful natural cotton wrap which is an ideal way to store your brushes! The brushes may be Eco-friendly but they are also practical and usable for every day make-up application.

The brushes themselves have handles made entirely of bamboo, and have super soft, fine bristles which make them really comfortable and easy to use. There are four brushes in the set, which includes an Eyeshading Brush, Foundation Brush, Blush Brush and a Finishing Brush. They are all going to become part of my daily make up routine.

Overall I think these brushes are good quality, works well with products and super soft, have a nice appearance/packaging, and are very competitively priced with other brush brands. There are a range of other types of brushes which you can check out on the Amazon Website for Online shopping or also check out in Spinneys Dubai!!

The world is a beautiful place, so let's keep it that way.
Love the Quote written on the 'So Eco' packaging ;-) and found it amazing the way they have explained how everything is so Eco-friendly :)

What do you think of this set? Will you be trying some of the brushes?
Stay Beautiful..

Love Neha xoxo
